"Take it slowly" to avoid sports injuries

In order to avoid sports injuries, people engaging in physical activity should pace themselves, it has been asserted.Joanne Murphy, research liaison officer for the Stroke Association, said that the charitable organisation recommends that people undertake at least half an hour of exercise five days per week.
By doing so, they can reduce their risk of stroke.
Ms Murphy stated that moderate physical exercise can reduce the risk of the condition by more than a quarter (27 per cent).
However, she urged people to take a measured approach to physical activity in order to avoid sustaining sports injuries.
"Take it slowly at first, especially if you're not used to physical activity, and build up. Just 30 minutes of activity five days a week is enough to help reduce your risk of stroke," Ms Murphy concluded.
People who are unlucky enough to sustain an injury may well find that ultrasound equipment such as Ultralieve Pro helps to accelerate healing by stimulating soft tissue beneath the surface of the skin.
