Aurelio in new injury woe
4/3/2010
Footballer Fabio Aurelio faces three weeks on the sidelines after sustaining another injury while playing for Liverpool. The defender suffered a thigh strain during last weekend's match against Blackburn Rovers at Anfield and manager Rafa Benitez has revealed the extent of the problem.
"It's not good news and we think he is going to be out for maybe another two or three weeks - Fabio has had really bad luck," the Liverpool boss said.
The setback is the latest in a series of problems for the Brazilian full-back, whose appearances have been restricted by a series of minor muscle injuries.
Benitez noted that these started in the summer and subsequently have occurred "every month".
People who are prone to sustaining frequent muscle strains and pulls may find that using ultrasound therapy helps to ease the problem.
Another footballer struggling with a thigh problem is Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho, who is reportedly doubtful for Chelsea's FA Cup match this weekend after sustaining the injury this week on international duty with Portugal.
