City sweat on Bellamy knee injury
9/2/2010
Manchester City forward Craig Bellamy could be facing a long lay-off after sustaining a knee injury at the weekend. The 30-year-old - who has a history of knee trouble - reported the problem after last Saturday's defeat at Hull and has travelled to London to see a specialist.
While the Welshman is out of the game against Bolton Wanderers tonight (February 9th), manager Roberto Mancini told the club's website: "I know about Craig's injury problems in the past and I hope this does not turn out to be like his old injuries."
However, the extent of the problem will not be known until the doctor reports back.
Last season ended early for Bellamy when he injured the joint in a Uefa Cup tie against Hamburg.
Those struggling with their knees after the age of 30 may find using an ultrasound probe helps ease their pains.
Other footballers suffering knee injuries recently include Fulham Striker Andew Johnson, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery.
