Cricketers in injury concern
7/4/2010
Members of the Pakistan cricket team have been struggling with injuries during a training camp ahead of the World Twenty20 tournament in the West Indies later this month.Coach Waqar Younis ordered the camp to improve the team's fielding ahead of the tournament, with Pakistan the reigning champions.
However, it has been revealed that several players are either nursing injuries or have sustained them during practice, with one of these being shoulder pain suffered by bowler Umar Gul.
Captain Shahid Afridi said there is "nothing serious" about the injuries suffered by any of the players and all should be fit for the contest in the West Indies.
He insisted the training regime was necessary to bring the team's fielding up to scratch.
As well as Umar Gul, another sportsman expected to have made a full recovery from a shoulder problem in time for a major event is golfer Paul Casey, who has said he is now fit and ready for the US Masters in Augusta this week.
