Huddlestone in ankle injury blow
3/3/2010
Footballer Tom Huddlestone is facing a substantial lay-off after sustaining ankle ligament damage. The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was hurt during last Sunday's win over Everton and scans have revealed the kind of damage he has suffered.
A club statement noted that he will now see a specialist to establish what the best course of treatment and rehabilitation is.
The injury could see the player out for several weeks and comes at a time when a variety of muscle and ligament injuries are leaving the club's stars on the sidelines.
Among these are groin injuries to Jermaine Jenas, Aaron Lennon and David Bentley.
The club has responded by recalling midfielder Jake Livermore from his loan transfer to Peterborough United.
Sufferers from ankle injuries may find that using cheap ultrasound machines helps to speed up rehabilitation and recovery.
Other footballers with ankle trouble include Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini, who was recently ruled out until next season with serious ligament damage.
