Lamont suffers knee ligament injury
15/2/2010
Scottish rugby star Rory Lamont is set to miss the rest of the Six Nations tournament after suffering a knee ligament injury against Wales on Saturday (February 13th). The winger was one of three men to be ruled out for the remainder of the campaign due to injuries sustained in the match, with Thom Evans carried out with a neck vertebrae injury and Chris Paterson sustaining a kidney injury.
Lamont and others suffering from knee problems may find that using ultrasound machines to treat the injury could lead to a faster recovery.
In his absence, Scotland went on to lose the match in Cardiff 31-24, with Wales winning the game thanks to a converted last minute try.
Lamont's blow may be particularly bad news because he had forced his way back into the squad after injury by proving his fitness with his club side Toulon last month during a 31-19 win over Montpellier.
