Owen awaits injury verdict
2/3/2010
Footballer Michael Owen is awaiting news about the extent of his injury after having to be substituted in the Carling Cup Final. The 30-year-old forward is having a scan today to establish how bad the hamstring injury he suffered is.
Owen scored an early goal in the match but then pulled up a few minutes before half-time as he chased a through ball.
It is the latest setback for a player who has suffered many hamstring and other injuries - including this season - as the former Liverpool and Real Madrid front man has been unable to command the regular berth that could help him return to the international scene.
Those struggling with persistent hamstring problems may find that using an ultrasound machine helps ease the problem and speed recovery.
Owen's team-mate Darren Fletcher also suffered a slight hamstring strain in the game, but is expected to be fit for Scotland's friendly against the Czech Republic this week.
