Sidebottom injury causes concern
3/3/2010
An injury to England cricketer Ryan Sidebottom is causing concern as the national team's tour of Bangladesh continues. The left-arm seamer hurt his thigh in the first limited-overs international in Dhaka and missed the second match of the series.
He has now been ruled out of the final game of the three, which may leave doubts about his prospects of recovering in time for the two Test matches between the sides.
Discussing Sidebottom's injury, England stand-in captain Alistair Cook said: "We're not 100 per cent sure how serious his thigh is, but we will have a better idea in the next 48 hours."
Another player suffering muscle pain during the match was Stuart Broad, whose back problems only allowed him to bowl six of his allotted ten overs in the Bangladesh innings.
Those with muscle problems may find that using ultrasound treatment eases their discomfort.
It is the latest injury setback for the 32-year-old Sidebottom, who has suffered a range of strains and struggles in the past couple of years.
His father Arnie also had injury problems, limping off the field in his only Test match with a toe injury in 1985.
