England cricketer Ryan Sidebottom will miss the rest of the current tour of Bangladesh, it has been revealed.

The swing bowler sustained a thigh injury during the first one-day international in Dhaka and had already been ruled out of the remaining two limited-over games.

Now the 32-year-old will miss the two Test matches that follow and is on his way home, the squad's management has revealed.

In addition to Sidebottom's injury, fellow bowlers Graham Onions and Stuart Broad are having MRI scans on their backs to establish what their problems are after both suffered pain in the area.

Tim Bresnan has replaced Sidebottom in the Test squad, while uncapped Steve Finn has been called up.

Those suffering thigh pain like Ryan Sidebottom may find that using an ultrasound probe helps ease the discomfort.

Other sportsmen suffering thigh problems at present include Liverpool footballer Fabio Aurelio, who will miss the next three weeks after sustaining the injury last weekend.
