Sports injuries surgery planned for Ford CEO

Sports injuries-related surgery is on the cards for Alan Mulally, the chief executive officer of Ford Motor Co, it has been reported.News provider Bloomberg was told that Mr Mulally, who is also the president of the organisation, having joined the firm in September 2006, is due to be operated on due to his "lifelong love" of sports.
Karen Hampton, a spokesperson for the company, told the media outlet that Mr Mulally is a particularly keen fan of tennis and that he is having surgery on his right shoulder.
She explained that Mr Mulally told his employees about the operation during a meeting while the firm's third-quarter financial results were being discussed.
Ms Hampton told the provider: "We don't expect any extended leave."
