Torres and Gerrard face scans
14/1/2010
Liverpool duo Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard face scans after both had to be substituted during Liverpool's FA Cup defeat against Reading.Speaking after the game, manager Rafa Benitez told the press conference: "Both players will have a scan tomorrow (January 14th) and we have to wait for the doctor."
He confirmed that Gerrard has hamstring trouble, while Torres twisted his knee.
To cap a bad night for the Anfield club, Benitez confirmed that Israeli international Jossi Benayoun is struggling with a rib problem.
The latest injury to Torres comes after the player has suffered a series of difficulties with his groin, while Gerrard has also been absent with injuries on occasions this season as the team has struggled to match last year's form, when they came second in the Premier League.
People struggling with knee or hamstring injuries may find that ultrasound treatment aids their recovery.
One footballer for whom a knee injury has proved too much is Shrewsbury Town player Mike Jackson, who has retired from the game after seeing a specialist over the problem, which has lingered since the end of last season.
