Golfer Vijay Singh has revealed how he is now pain-free after successful back surgery on a knee problem.

The pressure from the joint while walking was leading to the 47-year-old Fijian having discomfort that hampered his game and he was quoted by the New York Times as saying the operation has helped him get back in the groove.

He stated: "I don't have any pain. There's no knee pain and no back pain. I'm feeling really good and strong. I've done some good work and I'm just ready to play."

The veteran made his comments after shooting a round of 69 in the Honda Classic in Florida, placing him joint second in the latest stage of the tournament behind Colombian Camilo Vilegas.
