Wolves players hit by ankle injuries

15/12/2009
Wolves players hit by ankle injuries - Ultralieve ProWolves player Dave Edwards could be out for ten weeks with an ankle ligament injury, it has been revealed.

The 23-year-old suffered the blow in his team's 1-0 win against Tottenham on Saturday and his manager Mick McCarthy said surgery might be required.

"It's looking like Dave might need an operation and it could be eight to ten weeks as well," said the midlands side's boss.

This would make him the second player from the club to have such an operation this month, as forward Andy Keogh has a similar injury.

Michael Kightly is also suffering with an ankle problem and will join the other two in missing tonight's match away to Manchester United.

Those suffering with an ankle problem or recovering from an operation on it may find that ultrasound treatment aids their recovery.

Meanwhile, opponents United have denied claims in a newspaper report that Dimitar Berbatov underwent a knee operation last week.

The club's website described the Daily Mirror report as "interesting", since the Bulgarian was on the substitute's bench on Saturday.
